The Hair
Synthetic Hair

Synthetic hair is essentially plastic. There is however a wide variety of nylon materials used in making synthetic fiber hair, and the quality varies greatly.

Some fibers are little more than monofilaments similar to fishing line. The diameter of the hair is thick and has a coarse feel. These reflect a brassy, unnatural color tone that is unflattering, and fights with natural skin tones. They are also susceptible to becoming frizzy and wiry if subjected to even low degrees of heat. The direction of the fiber is set, and no other style of the hair can be achieved from the cut.

Other high quality fibers are made with nylons that are much stronger and can be stretched to a thinner diameter like that of natural hair resulting in a softer feel. They have a more natural and "warmer" tone that is more complimentary to natural skin tones. Higher heats can be tolerated and the hair remains smoother and softer looking if exposed to higher temperatures.

Some styles and colors are best achieved with the use of synthetic fibers. We use only high quality synthetic fibers that will look and feel like your own hair.
